Angels and stardust
falling to earth
cars drive by the streets below
young lovers out
laughing aloud
She sits by her window
A party downstairs
She won't go down
No one to talk to
No one to hold
Angels and stardust are falling tonight
glittering magically
lost in the wind forever
she once ran to catch them
she'll run no more
Angels and stardust
and a lonely woman cries
Selections from "Angels and Stardust", 1995 Brunswick Publishing Company by permission from author
Just yesterday morning
I heard on the radio
that Saturday nights were gone
borrowed cars
rundown movies
lonely souls
leaning against the brick wall
watching the people go by
cruising past the strip
in an old dying wagon
night seems over
and I thought it had just begun
and then
yesterday afternoon
I heard on the radio
that Saturday nights were gone
Shades of grey
smoky sunset
summer nights
drifting shadows
Shades of grey
scattered whispers
hurried footsteps
morning light
fade away

We are born upon wings
with which to soar

Poised above the clouds
we slowly drift back to earth
