Tiny ripples
roll slowly
onto the silent beach

Which may cast
forth a pearl
and which silently
steals sand from the shore?

A call from the wilderness
She screams through the night
Inflamed passion hides away
Behind the forest of her eyes

What lies behind her faint smile
What makes the spark flicker in her eyes

I've seen her at dusk
When her silent mask slowly drips down
I've call to her from the wilderness
and now
a scream I await
Soft lights in the hollow city
empty world
empty heart
Soft lights and faded waltzes
echoing throughout the barren ballroom
for only the walls to hear
a struggled smile
her vacant eyes
alone
slowly opening the apartment door
music softly calls her
drawing her away
soft lights
quiet nights
she pauses for a moment
breathes deeply
and wonders
